PITC bill check — what actually happens when you look one up

“PITC bill check” is the accurate name for what this whole site does: your reference number goes to PITC — the Power Information Technology Company — and what comes back is your official duplicate bill. PITC isn't a company you owe money to; it's the shared system every one of Pakistan's 11 DISCOs bills through.

What PITC is, in one paragraph

The Power Information Technology Company runs bill.pitc.com.pk, the centralized billing platform behind MEPCO, LESCO, FESCO, IESCO, GEPCO, PESCO, HESCO, SEPCO, QESCO, TESCO, and HAZECO. Each DISCO still generates, prices, and owns your bill — PITC is the infrastructure that renders it as a document you can pull up and print. For the fuller picture of how PITC fits alongside NEPRA, WAPDA, and your DISCO, see the Pakistan electricity sector guide.

How a PITC bill check actually works

Three steps, no account: enter the 10 to 14 digit reference numberprinted on any previous bill, pick your DISCO so the request routes to the right company's record inside PITC, and submit. PITC returns the current billing cycle for that meter — the same figures, the same layout, that a printed bill or a customer-service counter would show. Nothing in that response is estimated or recalculated on this end.

Is it safe, and is it really official?

The reference number is the only thing PITC needs, and it identifies the meter rather than you personally — there's no password, no CNIC, no account to compromise. The document PITC returns is the official one: it's accepted by banks, landlords, and employers for the same reason a bill from your DISCO's own counter would be, because it comes from the same source.

When PITC is slow or a lookup fails

PITC is a government-operated system, and load spikes around each month's bill-issue dates are real — a slow response is usually PITC, not this page. Before retrying, check the digits against your printed bill: a single transposed number returns an empty result that looks exactly like a server timeout. If the number is confirmed correct and it still won't load, a different network connection or a short wait usually resolves it.

Frequently asked questions

Is PITC a electricity company?

No. PITC (Power Information Technology Company) is a shared IT system, not a distribution company. It doesn't generate power, set tariffs, or own your account — it's the platform that renders and serves the bill your actual DISCO (MEPCO, LESCO, and the rest) issues.

Is checking my bill through PITC official?

Yes. bill.pitc.com.pk is the same system every DISCO's own bill.pitc.com.pk-based lookup and the customer-service counter use. A duplicate pulled from it carries the same reference, line items, and amount as the paper original — nothing is recalculated.

Why use this site instead of going to bill.pitc.com.pk directly?

You don't have to — bill.pitc.com.pk works fine on its own. This site sends the same reference number to the same system and returns the same result, just through a form built for a phone screen with your DISCO already broken out by name instead of a raw path parameter.

Why is the PITC bill check slow or not loading?

PITC is a government-run system and it does slow down, especially in the days around when bills are issued each month. Re-check the reference number digits against your printed bill first — a single wrong digit returns nothing and looks identical to a slow server. If the number is right, waiting a minute or switching networks usually clears it.
