Getting a duplicate electricity bill
The paper bill never arrived, or it arrived and went missing before you paid it. Either way the document itself is still available — this page covers pulling it up, saving it, and whether the printout will be accepted where you need it.
Short answer
Enter your reference number in the bill checker, pick your distribution company, and the official duplicate opens. Save it with your browser’s print dialog (choose Save as PDF) or send it straight to a printer.
No account, no fee, nothing to install. Don’t have the reference number? Find it first.
Step by step
- Find your reference number10 to 14 digits, printed at the top of any previous bill. It is also in your DISCO's billing SMS and in the payment history of any wallet or bank app you have paid through before.
- Open the bill checker and pick your companyThe company name is printed at the top of your bill. Entering a valid number under the wrong company returns nothing, so this step matters more than it looks.
- Submit and wait for the documentThe bill is fetched live from PITC. A few seconds is normal; the days around monthly bill-issue dates are slower.
- Save it or print itCtrl+P on a computer, or the share/print item in the browser menu on a phone. Choosing “Save as PDF” instead of a printer gives you a file identical to the printed output.
What people use it for
The common reasons are proof of address for a bank or a tenancy file, an employer’s expense claim, keeping a record for tax filing, or simply having the payable figure and due date in hand before paying through a wallet. Most institutions accept the printout because it carries the same issuing details as the original — though some still insist on a stamped copy from the DISCO counter, which is worth confirming before you make the trip.
Common questions
What is a duplicate bill?
The same document your DISCO issued, pulled fresh from PITC instead of arriving on paper. It is not a copy, a summary, or a reconstruction — same reference number, same line items, same amount, same due date as the sheet that should have come to your door. That is precisely why banks and landlords accept it.
Do I need to register or log in to get one?
No. There is no account, no password, and no sign-up on this site. A reference number and a working connection are the entire requirement. Nothing you enter is stored in a database here — the number is passed to PITC to render the bill and that is the end of it.
Is it free?
Yes, with no asterisk. No fee, no trial that expires, no paid tier. Your DISCO does not charge for the online duplicate either — if a site or an individual asks you to pay to view your own bill, that is not how this works.
How do I save it as a PDF?
Once the bill is on screen, open your browser's print dialog — Ctrl+P on a computer, or the share/print item in the browser menu on a phone — and choose 'Save as PDF' instead of a printer. The file you get is identical to the printed output, which is what a bank branch or an employer's expense claim needs.
Can I do this on a phone?
Yes, and most people do. The lookup is built for a phone screen first and the bill scales to fit rather than forcing you to pinch and drag across a desktop-width page. There is nothing to install. Saving to PDF works the same way through your mobile browser's share menu.
Will a bank, landlord, or employer accept the printout?
Usually, yes — it carries the same reference, figures, and issuing details as the original, which is what they are checking. Some institutions still insist on a stamped original from the DISCO counter, so if it is for something formal like a loan file, ask them first rather than making the trip twice.
The bill will not load. What now?
Check the digits against your printed bill first — one wrong digit returns an empty result that looks exactly like a broken page. Then confirm you have picked the right distribution company. If both are right, it is usually PITC being slow, which is common in the days around bill-issue dates; waiting a minute or switching networks normally clears it.
Can I get my bill before the paper copy arrives?
Yes — that is one of the more useful things about it. The online bill appears as soon as your DISCO generates the cycle, which is typically well before the paper copy is delivered. If your bill has not been issued yet, the lookup returns the previous cycle or nothing; check again in a day or two rather than assuming something is broken.
Can I check my bill from outside Pakistan?
Yes, provided PITC's server is reachable from where you are. Some overseas networks and VPN exit nodes are blocked by Pakistani government portals — if the bill will not load from abroad, switching networks or turning a VPN off usually settles it.
