Solar Plates (Panels) Explained
What people mean by 'solar plates' in everyday conversation, how a module's rating actually works, and what to compare before buying.

Solar plates = PV modules
When people in Pakistan say "solar plates," they mean photovoltaic modules — the panels mounted in a frame on the roof. Each one carries a DC power rating in watts, measured under standard test conditions in a lab, not on your actual roof.
Real-world output drops from that lab number depending on heat, dust, tilt angle, and shading. A 10 kWp array won't put out 10 kW for hours at a stretch; expect a curve that rises through the morning, peaks near noon, and falls off by evening.
Quality signals
Check for IEC-style test references, and read the warranty carefully — manufacturers usually split it into a product warranty and a separate, longer performance warranty. An unfamiliar brand with no traceable warranty path is a bigger risk than a slightly higher price tag from an established one.
